Identification | This is a very striking species in bloom, especially when hundreds are in bloom in a California grassland. The plants grow about a foot tall, with narrow dissections to the leaves. The large flowers are terminal on long stalks, orange to yellow-orange with a darker spot basally, and with 4 petals. | |
