Distribution | There are only 2 specimens at the SERNEC database: one from an arboretum in Wake County and one from a yard in Craven County. Thus, not an established part of the flora; not even a waif. However, Weakley (2020) shows it as "rare" in the NC Coastal Plain -- stating "Planted and persisting, sometimes appearing native, on barrier islands". Thus, the website editors choose to consider this exotic species as SR (reported), in need of documentation for addition to the flora of the state.
