DistributionWeakley (2022) considers this taxon to be limited just to southeastern VA, and not ranging into NC. Please see var. 4 and var. 5 on this website.
AbundanceUnfortunately, the NCNHP mistakenly has carried the former State Endangered status and S1 State Rank over from a previous list, onto its 2022 Rare List. But, in their Biotics database they do follow Weakley (2022) and this website in considering this taxon not to occur in NC. Thus, this website considers the State Rank as SRF (Reported Falsely) and with no State Status.
