Distribution | Piedmont only, so far as is known. A single collection of plants that were not obviously planted or merely persisting: Orange County, OWASA access to Battle Park, UNC Chapel Hill. Collected in 2006. Other specimens from Orange, Wake, and Jackson counties are from cultivated or persisting plants.

Identification | Leaves are a foot tall, narrow, and rather blunt-tipped, with a thickish texture. The flower stalk is much taller; the upper third with up to 15 drooping, blue, 6-parted flowers. | |
