DistributionTwo specimens are known from Moore and Wake counties, both from cultivated lawn plants. We include this alien as it has been found escaped to southeastern VA and will likely be found in NC.

Native of Japan; widely introduced in warm climates of the world.

IdentificationZoysia is a creeping dwarf grass that forms dense mats and which may creep over rocks and other obstructions. Leaves are short and sharp-tapered. Inflorescences are erect, slender, and with gray-brown overlapping florets.
