DistributionApparently rarely cultivated in NC -- a single gathering from 1956 on Duke University campus. The only non-cultivated specimen was collected in 2006 at Battle Park on UNC Chapel Hill campus. Native of eastern Asia.

Phenology
IdentificationA climbing vine with alternate leaves that are wider than long and truncate or shallowly notched at tip, and with tiny teeth along margins. Flowers are white, 1/2 inch across, with about 7 petals. Fruits (not seen in NC) are the brown "Kiwi-fruit" with fuzzy skin and green interior.
Taxonomic CommentsCultivated plants are var. deliciosa.
