Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Coral Snakes are highly fossorial and are associated with well-drained sandy soils. In North Carolina, it occurs essentially only in xeric, pine-oak sandhill habitats in the Coastal Plain (Palmer and Braswell, 1995).
