Lontra canadensisNorth American River Otter0000-00-00Alexander Jones1Dark in color, appeared wet, Rounded head, long tail etc. slinky-loping semi-gallup semi-scooting movement. - While hiking around a stretch of Game Lands in late Feb or early March 2020, I got my first good look at a critter I had seen many times in the water as it passed me, oddly enough, in a wooded area adjacent to Tuckertown Reservoir, west of Tuckertown road/east of the train tracks in northwestern Montgomery County close to the line with Davidson. Many small bodies of water in this area and I suppose it was moving from one body to the other, but was quite a surprise. I immediately drew a picture of it for later ID'ing which is how I got here. Can provide more specifics if needed. They're apparently fairly common to Tuckertown.05_Sight
