Comments: One of 42 species in this genus that occur in North America north of Mexico (Scholtens and Solis, 2015), eleven of which have been recorded in North Carolina
Identification

Adult Markings: Head, palps, and thorax are cinereous with a bronze luster (Fernald, 1896). The ground color of the forewings is is golden fuscous; the silver stripe is undivided; dots in the subterminal area are separate from the terminal line (Forbes, 1923). Similar to leachellus but the brown stripe along the costa is broader throughout and is at least half as wide as the silver stripe at the middle of the costa. Hindwings are white or cream-color.
Wingspan: 21-25 mm (Fernald, 1896)
