Comments: One of thirty species in this genus that occur in North America north of Mexico (Pohl et al., 2016). Thirteen have been recorded in North Carolina.

Habitats and Life History
Habitats: The vast majority of our records for this species come from open, herb-dominated sites. Most come from savannas, flatwoods, and sandridge habitats int the Coastal Plain, although we none from maritime dunes. In the Piedmont, records come from open boggy habitats, mafic glades, dry woodlands, and lakeshores. Mountain records also come from both lakeshores, wet meadows, and dry woodlands.
