Pseudexentera haracana (Kearfott, 1907) - No Common Name

Taxonomy
Superfamily: Tortricoidea Family: TortricidaeSubfamily: OlethreutinaeTribe: EucosminiP3 Number: 621155.00 MONA Number: 3252.00
Species Status: This species and faracana are distinguished from other members of this genus by their possession of a waved, contrasting dark line extending from the apex of the forewing to the middle of the costal margin of the cell. Faracana has an additional dark streak along the radius that is missing in haracana (Heinrich, 1923). Forbes (1924) states that the head and thorax are blackish, as is most of the forewing, which is obscurely striated with violet-gray; the dark striae are paired with white ones along the costa. Our specimens, along with examples shown on MPG, show a fuscous-olive shading in the sub-costal area. Both the large, dark basal patch and the smaller post-median dark patch are bordered outwardly with narrow white bands.
