Comments: Previously considered a subspecies of Deltotaria brimleii, Deltotaria philia was elevated to full species by Means, et al, 2021.
Species Status: The type locality for this species is Clarkville, Georgia (Shelley and Whitehead, 1986).

Distribution in North Carolina
Distribution: This species occurs south and west of the Deltotaria brimleii, with the Little Tennessee the apparent northern boundary of its range. In addition to the southwestern mountains of North Carolina, its range extends into the adjoining mountains of Georgia and South Carolina (Shelley and Whitehead, 1986).
