Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Carril and Wilson (2021) describe this species as occurring in most of the same areas as Andrena eriginiae, implying an association with rich hardwood forests on mesic slopes and bottomlands. This is consistent with the habitats occupied by Wild Geranium (G. maculatum).
Larval Host Plants: Fowler and Droege (accessed 2021-12-08) list this species as a specialist pollinator of Geraniums. Discover Life (accessed 2021-12-08) lists Geranium maculatum as its pollen host with no records given for either Carolina Crane's-bill -- a native species associated with open, weedy areas -- or any of the several exotic species in this genus.
