Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Carril and Wilson (2021) describe this species as a specialist on Claytonia virginica, a spring ephemeral associated with rich floodplains and mesic slopes.
Larval Host Plants: Fowler and Droege (accessed 2021-12-08) list this species as a specialist on Claytonia. Discover Life (access 2021-12-08) also list several records from Claytonia, with only apple and blueberry included in addition.

Comments: This species was collected in the eastern Piedmont (Raleigh) by Mitchell in the 1920s. Currently known from over 15 occurrences from the mountains to the eastern Piedmont. Populations in some areas are very large.
