Taxonomic Comments: These records were originally reported as Milnesium tardigradum. At the time of these collections M. tardigradum was thought to be cosmopolitan. More recently the species has been divided into over 40 species, thanks largely to the use of integrative taxonony. M. tardigradum is now known to occur only in Europe.
