Taxonomic Comments:
Probable new species from the Warren Wilson College campus appears to be the same species found in the Smokies. This species is now under active investigation by Bartels & Kaczmarek.
Species Notes:
Terrestrial. Range unknown. DNA analysis of Buncombe County material has confirmed new species status of that population.

Body Length:
436-696 microns.
Key Characters:
Eye spots, six peribuccal lamellae, smooth cuticle, [3-3[[3-3] claw configuration, buccal tube narrower and straighter than M. bohleberi, complex dorsal cuticle pseudoplates.
ID Requirements:
Identifiable only by close inspection of key characters or by DNA analysis.
