Taxonomic Comments: This is a probable new species from the GSMNP, similar to Hysibius dujardini.
Species Notes: Terrestrial. Found only in the Cataloochee area.

Species Description: Needs fresh material for a complete description.
Body Length: Unknown.
Key Characters: Smooth cuticle, two macroplacoids and 1 microplacoid (or septulum). Long claws similar in length to H. dujardini (compare to Hypsibius n.sp.).

Habitats: Soil.
Abundance: Rare. This species makes up 0.19% of terrestrial specimens collected in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Diet: Unkonwn, probably herbivorous.
Reproduction: Smooth eggs deposited in exuvium.
Observation Methods: PC and DIC.
