Description: An orange to light brown species. Brachypterous males have an orange and black abdomen and two black marks on the scutellum. There is also a black spot on each side of the thorax, and the frons is completely unmarked. Brachypterous females are plain brownish-orange, lacking any marks; females also have a plain frons. Macropterous adults resemble brachypters in color and have clear wings.

Habitats: Grassy, brushy areas

(Bentgrass), Festuca ovina (Sheep fescue), Achnatherum coronatum (Giant ricegrass), Carex scoparia (Broom sedge, Cyperaceae) (UDEL)
Behavior: Can be attracted at night with a light.
