Description: A distinctive member of this genus, it has pale, yellowish wings with small black spots scattered across the wings and along the tips. The rest of the body is mostly concolorous with the yellowish color of the wings. Adults are 9 mm long. See here for a nice image of an adult: BG.

Habitats and Life History

Habitats:

Plant Associates: Derbidae are known or assumed to feed on fungal hyphae as immatures (UDEL). Adults have been found on Quercus (oak) (BHL), as well as beech, blue-beech, elm, and sourwood.

Behavior: Can be attracted at night with a light; may be found overwintering in logs. (UDEL)
