description A glossy brown to dark brown species with extensive pale markings, including white to yellow antennae. The posterior edge of the pronotum is white while the wings are clear. Males have a black vertex and a black frons contrasting with the pale clypeus. The pygofer (last abdominal segment) is dark brown to black laterally, on the sides. Females are typically much paler than males, being uniform white to yellow in color with a pale face. This species very closely resembles F. andromedus in coloration and pattern. However, in males of aduncus the first antennal segment is yellow while in andromedus the first segment is brown. Male brachypters are around 1.61 mm long while females are around 1.85 mm.
