description

A very dark species with a dark brown to black body; adults are mostly concolorous/uniformly colored and have shiny bodies. The antennae and legs are pale to stramineous, and the face is almost entirely dark brown to black; the pronotum and mesonotum are also very dark brown. The wings are dark brown, lacking and transverse contrasting bands. Adult brachypterous females are around 3.4 mm long. (Bartlett & Deitz, 2000)

The macropterous form of this species is unknown.

This species is most similar to P. marginatus but tends to have a much darker frons (C. Bartlett pers. comment).
