description |
A pale species with two bold black bands extending from the eyes to the tip of the wings, pinching in the middle. A bold red mark extends horizontally from the eyes to the edge of an otherwise pale head; there are no other marks on the head. There are some small black dots on the rear of the wings, near the tips and above the dark wing bands. Adults are 10.0 mm long.

Derbidae are known or assumed to feed on fungal hyphae as immatures (UDEL). Adults have been found on hickory (Carya sp.), beech (Fagus sp.), and other forest trees (BHL). |
