synonym
description A pretty distinctive species, with a couple different color forms (previously recognized as separate species). The head is narrow and elongate between two prominent, large eyes, and ranges in color from tan to black. The wings are typically tan; in paler individuals, the wings are semi-translucent with yellowish-tan wing venation, while in bolder individuals the wings are completely yellowish-tan without prominent wing venation and black tips to the wings. Adult males are around 4.0 mm long while females are around 6.5 mm (DeLong 1948).

Nymphs are pale yellowish-green overall and show the head shape characteristic of adults.

For more images of this species showing the color and pattern variation, see: BG.
