comments This page serves as an umbrella for members of the genus Graminella that are difficult to identify to species. Many of the individuals on this page likely belong to Graminella nigrifrons, for which a view of the face for greenish individuals is necessary to really be able to determine a species level identification. However, there are other possibilities for Graminella species with black spots on the margin of the head in our region, including other members of the genus that have already been recorded in North Carolina as well as those that have been recorded from neighboring states. Additionally, some individuals of G. nigrifrons dorsally can resemble Graminella fitchii. There are also Graminella that lack dark spots on the head, and some individuals of Graminella nigrifrons seemingly can lack some of these black spots.

Due to these challenges within identifying some members of this genus from photos without the proper angle of the face or a specimen that is dissected, the following records have been moved to this page.
