description |
Yellowish or white with orange-red stripes on the wings and a distinctive band of dark blotches across the wings before the apical cells; this pattern is characteristic of this species. There is an inverted yellow V extending across the pronotum and vertex, with the vertex midline pale. The scutellum is either completely dark or pale with darker lateral triangles; sometimes in darker individuals the dark mesonotum is visible through the pronotum. The underside of the thorax is entirely dark, and the abdomen is dark dorsally (typically visible through the wings). Adults are 2.8-3.2 mm long. (Dmitriev & Dietrich, 2009)
