description Yellowish or greenish with dark brown markings, with the pronotum characteristically infumose to dark brown; sometimes the head is also dark, and the wings are typically concolorous with the pronotum. Adults are 3.25-3.5 mm long. (Beirne, 1956; Christian, 1953, Hamilton 1983)

distribution Northeastern and midwestern United States and southeastern Canada; now known to occur as far south as North Carolina.
abundance Rare, a couple recent records from the upper Piedmont and mountains; likely much more abundant in this part of the state.
