DistributionCollected twice in the upper Piedmont and Mountains. At SERNEC there is no Haywood County specimen by name, but perhaps it is the sheet at DUKE that has neither data nor image. The Surry County specimen was collected in 2002 in woods at Devotion, NC.

Native of Eurasia; in N.A. across Canada south to NC, TN, LA, AZ.

HabitatWoods, waste place.
PhenologyFlowering and fruiting May-June.
IdentificationCaraway stems may grow up to 3 feet tall. The lower leaves are dissected into a fernlike pattern of linear segments. These leaves could be easily passed by as Common Yarrow (Achillea borealis), but they are glabrous (vs. wispy hairy in that species). The flowers are white or rosy.
