Abundance | Apparently rare, and recent collections are very few. This is the flax of commerce. | |
Habitat | Roadsides, railroads, campus weed, trash heap, field, prairie restoration site (Wake Co.). | |
Phenology | Flowering and fruiting April-September. | |
Identification | Common Flax is our only blue-flowered flax, each up to 3/4-inch across. Plants may reach 2-3 feet tall, and the leaves diverge from the stem and are up to 1.5 inches long. | |
