DistributionScattered in the Mountains; disjunct to Durham County. First collected in 1969 and 1971 at 2 sites in Henderson County.

Native of Japan; in N.A. Que. to Ont. and MN, south to GA, AL, AR; also Sask. south to NM.
AbundanceRare in the Mountains, and very rare eastward. One population in 2017 in Macon County was termed abundant.
HabitatRoadside, roadside by swamp, railroad margins, bog, vacant lot, campus roadsides.
PhenologyFlowering April-May.
IdentificationMorrow's Honeysuckle is a shrub whose leaves are narrowly elliptical, with a very short driptip (or none). The leaves are roughly half the size of those of L. maackii and noticeably narrower; its flowers are more open and less tubular than are those of L. maackii, as well. L. x bella is virtually identical, except that its flowers fade to various shades of pink.
