Native of the Mediterranean and Western Asia; in N.A. most states except northern prairies and Rocky Mountain states.

IdentificationGarden Pea is familiar to those who grow vegetables. It is annual, sprawling or climbing up to 6 feet long, glabrous, the leaves glaucous and elliptical. Flowers grow 1-5 in axils, the standard and keel rose to lilac, the wings dark purple.
