| Identification | The Potato as a plant is hardly known to most people.  The stems grow 1-2.5 feet tall, the leaves are pinnately compound, with about 7 ovate leaflets that have entire margins (not lobed or cut).  The flowers are white to lavender, and typical-looking for a Solanum.  The "potatoes" are underground thick tubers. |  |
