| Distribution | Weakley's (2024) map shows that this species is rare in the NC Piedmont, but the website editors feel that such records are for the "old" broad-sense S. parvula, which has now been split into S. leonardii, S. australis, as well as strict-sense S. parvula. SERNEC has no such records for strict-sense S. parvula, and thus the State Rank of SR (State Reported) is valid.
"ME west to MN, south to GA and TX. In c. TN and scattered locations in e. TN (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997)." (Weakley 2024). Thus, the range of this species is essentially north and west of NC. | |
