Native to eastern Asia; in N.A. mostly the northeastern U.S., south to GA and KY.
AbundanceRare, perhaps spreading in the Mountains.
HabitatRoadside thickets, montane slopes, roadside pulloff.
PhenologyFlowering and fruiting March-July.
IdentificationThis is a climbing vine, potentially to 40 feet high. The leaves are well-spaced, stalked, each with 5 elliptical leaflets, rounded at the tips. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, but fragrant.
