DistributionThe sole specimen at SERNEC that is labeled R. idaeus var. idaeus is from the edge of the golf course at Balsam Mountain Preserve, Jackson County. It clearly states "cultivated." Other specimens from NC are of the native variety. Thus it appears that var. idaeus should be deleted from the NC flora.
