DistributionA population established for at least 20 years in a Jackson County roadside, collected by Dan Pittillo in 1968. Other specimens from Alleghany and Orange counties were of persistent and planted plants, respectively.

Native of eastern Asia; in N.A. from N.B. to Ont. and MN, south to MS and TX.
AbundanceVery rare. Frequently planted in gardens, but rarely escaping.
HabitatRoadside.
PhenologyMay-June.
IdentificationThe corollas are bright yellow, but in general it is similar otherwise to Orange Day-lily (H. fulva).
