Native of South America; in N.A. on the Coastal Plain from NC to FL and TX.
AbundanceRare to uncommon.
HabitatDry to wet roadsides and ditches, vacant lots.
PhenologyFlowering and fruiting August-October.
IdentificationThis Zephyr-lily is our only one that blooms in late summer-fall. It has large white tepals that are ascending, often strongly so; the long yellow anthers are also notable.
