DistributionWeakley (2020) retracts all NC records, due to problems involving taxonomy and identification. Formerly it was thought to occur in low Mountains and northern Piedmont. Collections thought to be vaseyi were taken from the southern Mountains and northern Piedmont, but apparently all are misidentified. He has now included it with E. godfreyanum.

Eastern KY and TN; disjunct to northeastern AR.
