DistributionThe sole montane specimen known is from Jackson County, campus of Western Carolina University, "Hunter Plaza." Collected by Dan Pittillo in 1990. Is this a naturalized or adventive population, or planted? Another presumed naturalized population was noted by Bryan England in the eastern Piedmont at Wilkerson Nature Preserve Park in Wake County, in 2022.
