Native of tropical Asia and Africa; in N.A. only NC, GA, FL, LA, and CA.
AbundanceVery rare, apparently, but expected elsewhere.
HabitatSoybean field.
Phenology
IdentificationBenghal Dayflower has ovate leaves that abruptly taper to a winged stalk, the flower spathes are usually clustered, and it produces subterranean (or nearly so) cleistogamous flowers as well as normal all-blue ones.
