DistributionReported for NC by Small (1933). There is an old specimen collected by M.A. Curtis at herbarium USCH; the label simply says "Desmodium canadense DC. N.C." However, Keith Bradley checked the ID in December 2020 and believes it to be D. perplexa. Not included in Wilbur (1963, Leguminous Plants of NC), nor in Weakley's (2024) NC Flora.
