DistributionAbundantly covering shrubs and climbing to 30 feet up trees at a hedgerow in Carthage, Moore County, 21 Oct 2024. At SERNEC there are 3 collections under this name or its synonyms, from Forsyth and Orange counties; all of them were taken from cultivated plants. Therefore, they are not mapped here.

Native to Asia; in North America scattered from MA to MI and WA, south to AL, NM, and CA.
AbundanceVery rare as an escape in NC. The one population in Moore County has thousands of twining stems and branches.

PhenologyIn full flower 21 Oct 2024.
IdentificationHigh climbing vine, also clambering over shrubs. Leaves ovate-triangular with an acute tip and +- cordate base. Inflorescenses are very numerous, grow from leaf nodes and produce many branches supporting abundant, tiny, white to creamy white flowers. Note the late season flowering period.
Taxonomic CommentsSynonyms include F. aubertii, Polygonum aubertii.
