DistributionThere is one specimen so-named at SERNEC: Wake Co., along fence next to apartments, Daniels Street, Raleigh. 26 Oct 2008, T. Matthews F08-8 (ODU). There may be others, but most botanists have not recognized infraspecific taxa or splits from H. helix. BONAP maps it for NC without designating any county. Weakley (2018) does likewise for the NC Piedmont.

Native of Europe; in N.A. scattered on East and West Coast states.

IdentificationDiffers from H. helix sensu stricto by characters of the hairs and leaves -- see Weakley's (2018) key or the 2025 FNA key.
