DistributionWeakley (2018) maps this species from the Coastal Plain of NC. There are no specimens for NC at SERNEC, nor does BONAP show any NC counties. Hosier (2018) includes ths species in his book "Seacoast Plants of the Carolinas", but gives no locality information. For the time being, the species will remain on the website as a species recorded in NC, but the website editors clearly want or need documentation to continue its presence here.

Native of Japan, China, Siberia; in N.A. mostly maritime Canadian provinces and Atlantic states south to VA; also AK to WA; also scattered in some inland states.
