DistributionWeakley (2022) maps it in the NC Piedmont from "suburban woodlands." There are no specimens at SERNEC. The FNA treatment has not yet been published; absent from RAB (1968). Several specimens (NCSC herbarium) are all from cultivation at an arboretum and a greenhouse. We will await additional data before accepting this species as part of the NC flora.
