Author | L. | |
Distribution | Known only from masonry at two sites in Wilmington, in New Hanover County. Collections from 1981 and 2013; however, it seems likely that these were included within P. multifida, as there seems some confusion among the many Wilmington masonry specimens of both of these two exotic fern species!
Native to eastern Asia.
Abundance | Extremely rare.
Habitat | "Old walls with lime mortar" (Weakley 2022).
Phenology | | |
Identification | In this fern, the pinnae are strictly simple and without lobes or pinnules. The leaf blade has a lanceolate shape, usually greater than 3 times as long as wide. Compare with P. multifida, for which there seems to have been some confusion in the state.
