DistributionFirst collected in NC in Wilson County in 2023 by Mark Basinger (NCU448024).

This is a native of South America, specifically in Brazil and Argentina. Weakley (2023a) shows records in the Southeast from FL west to LA and AR.
AbundanceVery rare; one known record.
HabitatNot described, but collected "along Mt. Vernon Drive" -- and thus in a ruderal, disturbed habitat.
PhenologyBlooms in April into June; the plant in NC was in flower when collected on June 14.
IdentificationThis Oxalis has leaflets that can be purple or green, but the flowers are white to pale lavender. Each leaflet is "usually deeply notched" (Weakley 2023a).
