QC west to AB, south to n. GA, TN, AR, and SD (Weakley 2024).
AbundanceProbably rare, to locally uncommon. Abundance levels of the two varieties is not well known, as most herbaria probably have not re-labeled their specimens.

All of the former Polygala species in NC have now been moved to the genus Senega in 2023.
