DistributionRecently has become established across the state, mainly in the Mountains and Piedmont. The iNaturalist website has a few dozen photo records (mapped below), though some may simply be planted individuals.

Native of California only.
AbundanceRare but seemingly increasing.
Habitat"Lawns, disturbed areas, apparently spreading from "wildflower seed mixes"." (Weakley 2024).
Phenology
IdentificationA small species with a rather large white flower that has a purple spot at each of the five corolla lobes.
