"SC south to s. FL, west to LA; also in w. TX, s. NM, and Mexico, and south to s. South America." (Weakley 2024). Records to the north of this range are considered as non-natural.
AbundanceRare to uncommon and probably overlooked/undercollected.
Habitat"Disturbed ground" (Weakley 2024).
PhenologyMay - October.
IdentificationVery similar to the native E. nutans. See Weakley (2024) for separation.
