Western VA and WV, south to NC and eastern TN.

PhenologyFlowering and fruiting April-May.
IdentificationFrom Balsam Ragwort (which see) this variety differs in have persistent, short, woolly hairs on leaves and usually on lower part of stem.
Taxonomic CommentsThe names Packera plattensis and Senecio plattensis have been misapplied to NC plants.
